My keyboard is not switching on.

Keyboard not switching on could be because of various issues, primary among them is power supply. Few things to checkbefroe escalating the issue to the service centre/dealer:
1. Please check the plug socket that you are using and that it is functioning correctly.
2. Make sure the adapter pin is properly inserted into the keyboard upto the point when it cannot be pushed in further. Please do not force the adapter pin in as it will result in damage.
3. Check that the wire is proper and has not come out from the adapter.
Most often the above actions resolves the problem. If the issue persists please contact your dealer for service support.

Question 2

I hear no sound when the keyboard is played.

Accepted Answer

Make sure the master volume is set to an appropriate level. Also, check if headphones are plugged into the PHONES/OUTPUT jack. The R1/R2/L voice volume (Mixer) settings could be set too low. Make sure the voice volumes are set at appropriate levels.

The speakers produce a pop sound whenever the power is turned ON or OFF

This is normal and is no cause for alarm.

Can the keyboard work on batteries?

Accepted Answer

Yes, the ST-50 keyboard can run on 6 1.5V AA size batteries which can be inserted in the battery compartment on the bottom of the keyboard. It is recommended to use Alkaline batteries as they last long. Caution: Do not use rechargeable batteries

I am using Batteries but my keyboard volume becomes softer.

Due to the total voltage of 1.5V batteries amounting to 9V instead of the 12V (when used with an adapter) there will be a drop in the speaker volume. Please note that there is no problem with the keyboard and you will hear the full volume when using the keyboard with the supplied adapter.

What happens to my Audio Out volume level when I use batteries instead of the adapter?

Please note that there will be change in the Audio Out volume level when the keyboard is used with batteries. You will not hear any difference in the volume levelk on your PA system to which the keyboard is connected to.

Question 7

Why do I hear noise when I'm using my mobile phone?

Accepted Answer

Using a mobile phone in close proximity to the instrument may produce interference. To prevent this, turn off the mobile phone or use it further away from the instrument.

The auto accompaniment does not play back even Sync is in standby condition and a key is pressed.

Accepted Answer

You may be trying to start accompaniment by playing a key in the righthand range of the keyboard. To start the accompaniment with Sync Start, make sure to play a key in the left-hand range of the keyboard.

Question 9

Certain notes sound at wrong pitch.

Accepted Answer

Make sure that the tuning value is set to 0. Press and hold the [+/YES] and [-/NO] buttons at the same time, then turning the power on will set INSTRUMENT to default.

Question 10

The Harmony function does not operate.

Accepted Answer

Please make sure the Harmony function is on. And Harmony cannot be turned on when a drum kit is selected for thevoice R1.
